Alta. man facing charges in connection to 2014 fatal crash in Sask.

Saskatchewan RCMP say they have charged a 27-year-old man after a fatal two-car crash left one dead almost a year-and-a-half ago. The collision happened around 12:45 a.m. CT on Oct. 23, 2014, west of Saskatoon.

The crash involving a Nissan Versa and a Pontiac Sunfire happened near Grandora, Sask. on Highway 14.

The driver of the Versa, 47-year-old Kristy Lukaszuk from Asquith, Sask., was pronounced dead at the scene.

RCMP said the driver of the Sunfire was a man from Edgerton, Alta. and the passenger was a woman from Lashburn, Sask. Victoria Morris sustained what were described as serious injuries.

A lengthy RCMP investigation was conducted and the file was sent to the Crown.

Bradley Dale Townsend was arrested last week.

He’s facing charges of impaired driving by drug causing bodily harm, impaired driving by drug causing death, dangerous driving causing bodily harm and dangerous driving causing death.

Townsend is scheduled to appear in Saskatoon provincial court on Thursday morning.
