WINNIPEG — Family and friends flanked the little white casket carrying two-year-old Chase Martens Wednesday afternoon, as hundreds gathered to say goodbye.

His tearful Grandma told the church they would miss the toddler’s laughter, his giggles and the way he showed his love to his mommy, daddy and sisters.

“He gave his family a lifetime of love and happiness in the two years he was with us,” she said.

Outside the church his sister dropped to her knees in grief while her mom wrapped the girl in a hug.

Her Mom and Dad thanked the community for their support throughout the week.

“It’s just unbelievable how much love that little boy had…he sure made me proud,” said his mom Destiny Turner. “Everybody that we don’t even know cared so much for our son.”
