Global Calgary has been nominated for 10 RTDNA awards in the Prairie region, including two short features, two digital awards and one multi-platform award.
RTDNA Canada Awards honour the best journalists, programs, stations and newsgathering organizations in radio, television and digital.
“At a time of unprecedented challenges to our industry, it is now more important than ever to recognize the very best in Canadian electronic and digital journalism,” RTDNA Canada President Ian Koenigsfest said. “These prestigious awards allow us to put aside our competitive energies for an evening and celebrate the very best in Canadian journalism.”

“It is an honour to see the work done by the Global News Calgary team so widely recognized by our industry,” Global Calgary Station Manager and News Director Chris Bassett said.

Last year, Global News was nominated for 12 national RTDNA awards, including one nomination in every digital category.
Global News ended up winning multiple awards.
