Rainfall warning in Southern Alberta

Environment Canada has issued a series of rainfall warnings for areas in southern Alberta.

Okotoks, High River, Calresholm, Crowsnest Pass, Pincher Creek and Waterton Lakes National Park are all included.

Those areas could see 50 to 70 mm of rain by Tuesday evening.

A high streamflow advisory is currently in place for the Bow River both upstream and downstream of Calgary, the Elbow River downstream of the Glenmore Dam, High River and its tributaries and Sheep River and its tributaries.

This means Stream levels are rising or expected to rise rapidly, and anyone situated close to the streams affected is advised to be cautious of the rising levels.

Meanwhile, a flood watch is in place for High River and Sheep River at Black Diamond.
