A new poll suggests Calgarians are pretty satisfied with their quality of life, but the economic downturn is weighing heavily on many people’s minds.

The Think HQ Public Affairs poll, conducted on behalf of Metro News, asked respondents to rate the city’s attributes on a scale of one to 10, where one meant very poor and 10 meant excellent.

Overall, Calgarians rated their quality of life as 6.8 out of 10. That’s in comparison with Edmonton, whose residents found their quality of life to be 6.6 out of 10.

The online survey from ThinkHQ, conducted between Feb. 29 and March 5, was released on Monday, March 28, 2016. The survey utilized a representative but non-random sample, therefore margin of error is not applicable. However, a probability sample of this size would yield a margin of error of +/- 4.6 in Calgary and +/- 4.6 in Edmonton at a 95% confidence interval.
