Friday marks five years since Canada saw its first recorded F5 tornado. It hit Elie, Manitoba in the evening of June 22, 2007.
The twister flattened four homes, another six received extensive damage. There were no injuries as a result of the tornado.
Environment Canada said wind speeds exceeded 420 kilometres per hour that night.
