PIERREFONDS-ROXBORO – Fifteen people were forced into the streets as Montreal firefighters battled a blaze in the borough of Roxboro, early Monday morning.

The two-alarm fire broke out around 1 a.m. in a triplex on Gouin Boulevard, near 2nd Street.

About 70 firefighters were on the scene; it took about three hours to get everything under control.

The blaze began on a balcony, spread to the rest of the building, and eventually to the neighbouring triplex.

Investigators are working to determine how the fire started.

There were no injuries.
