EDMONTON — For the second time in history, the NAIT Ooks Men’s Hockey team went an entire season without a single loss.
NAIT defeated the Augustana Vikings 3-2 in Game 2 of the ACAC Championship Final. With under four minutes to go in the game, tournament MVP Jordan Wood snuck the game winning goal past an unsuspecting Andy Williams to give the Ooks the win and earn a spot in the history books.
It’s the first time NAIT has had a perfect season since 1984-85 – the only 2 times a team has had a perfect season in ACAC history.
The win left Captain Scott Fellnermayr at a loss for words.

“I can’t really explain it, we just had something special,” Fellnermayr said.
Head Coach Mike Gabinet credits his players, coaching staff and a core leadership group for achieving this rare accomplishment.
“Some of our leaders are the reason why we’re at where we are today because of the way they conduct themselves and the culture they’ve established here,” Gabinet said.
Tanner Dunkle and Chris Lijdsman had the other two goals for NAIT while Ken Cameron made 26 saves for the win.
The win means back to back championships for the Ooks Men’s Hockey team and their 16th in team history.
