Police are on the lookout for a woman after security cameras captured her stuffing a puppy in her purse before walking out of a pet store in Plymouth County, Pennsylvania.
According to the Plymouth County Police Department, the unidentified woman walked into Playful Pets on Ridge Pike Road just after 5 p.m. on February 28.
Surveillance video shows her pick up a Bichon-Poodle mix named Montgomery from a display bin, before stuffing the pooch into her purse.
The woman then converses with store employees, before exiting the store.

Since being posted on the department’s Facebook page, the video has stirred a strong reaction among members of the local community.
Many are calling for a broader investigation into the store itself, with multiple comments saying they sell “puppy mill” puppies and do not humanely treat their animals.
In 2011, Turkey Hill kennel in nearby Lancaster County was investigated by state officials due to the unsafe and inhumane conditions, according to Philly.com.
One of the stores listed as a buyer of the kennel’s puppies was Playful Pets.
For now however, the investigation remains focused on the woman and the stolen pup, valued at over $1,000 US.
