Couple in Saskatchewan wins $2M with lottery ticket

The Gordons’ lucky ticket won them $2 million, according to Saskatchewan Lotteries. Terry Gordon was watching TV when he checked his numbers the morning after the Feb. 27 Western 649 draw and was pleasantly surprised.

“After I was sure about the numbers, I went to wake up Carol,” he said. “I turned on the bedroom light and said, ‘I think we won $2,000,000!’

Initially, Carol was sure her husband was joking until she checked the numbers herself.

“We started jumping up and down and hugged each other – we won $2,000,000!” Carol said.

The Swift Current couple plan on retiring comfortably and helping out friends and family with their winnings.

Terry bought the winning ticket at the local Westmount Shell, located at 345 North Service Road West. Their lucky numbers were 1, 6, 28, 42, 44 and 46.
