Hunter was arrested after a lengthy investigation in Maple Ridge on April 25, 2014 without incident and charged with second-degree murder.

The trial for Hunter began back in January and on March 3, a jury found her guilty of Docherty’s death.

IHIT is crediting the success of the trail to forensic evidence and the support of a witness who came forward to provide information.

Hunter’s sentencing it set to take place on April 4, 2016.
