A jury has found Trudy Gail Hunter guilty of second-degree murder in the death of 61-year-old Christina Docherty.
Docherty was found in her Burnaby apartment on Dec. 2, 2013. The Integrated Homicide Investigations Team (IHIT) determined she died as a result of an altercation with Hunter.

Hunter was arrested after a lengthy investigation in Maple Ridge on April 25, 2014 without incident and charged with second-degree murder.
The trial for Hunter began back in January and on March 3, a jury found her guilty of Docherty’s death.
IHIT is crediting the success of the trail to forensic evidence and the support of a witness who came forward to provide information.
Hunter’s sentencing it set to take place on April 4, 2016.
