Conservative M-P Jason Kenney says the prime minister’s comments to an American current affairs show are “regrettably smug.”
Kenney was responding to an interview Justin Trudeau gave to the C-B-S program “60 Minutes.”
Trudeau was asked what Canadians don’t like about the United States, and said it would be “nice if they paid a little more attention to the world.”

Kenney responded on Twitter, saying both countries have their flaws, but the idea that Canadians pay more attention to the world is “manifestly untrue.”

Trudeau said Canadians have to pay attention to the U-S because of its importance.
