Saskatchewan election results 2016: Sask. Party wins Humboldt-Watrous riding

Donna Harpauer of the Sask. Party has won the Humboldt-Watrous riding with 5,747 votes beating out the NDP’s Adam Duke who got 1,569 votes.

Boundaries: A relatively small riding to Saskatoon’s east, Humboldt-Watrous includes the towns of Humboldt, Watrous, Lanigan and Allan.

Last Election: Harper defeated NDP candidate Gord Bedient by over 3800 votes, 73-23 per cent.

History: The riding has been held by the Saskatchewan Party since 1997, when Arlene Julé, who was elected in 1995 as a Liberal, helped found the party. Prior to that, the riding was held by NDP MLA Eric Upshall.
