LETHBRIDGE – Acclaimed Bull Rider Scott Schiffner, in town for the Ag Expo at Exhibition Park, said he’s excited for the PBR Challenge coming up at the Enmax Centre.

“Lethbridge is always great,” Schiffner said. “[The Enmax Centre is] an exciting building, just the way it’s set up. It’s a real intimate kind of bull ride, if that makes sense, but you’ve got lots of people there, so it’s loud and crazy.”

The Strathmore native, who’s been riding bulls since 1998, credits this event with how he likes to start his season, and thinks Lethbridge residents should put it on themselves to be there.

“It’s an action-packed event,” he explained. “[You have] the greatest bulls in the world, and by bulls I mean real live buckin’ bulls. Bulls that weigh 1,500 to 2,000 pounds that jump two-and-a-half feet in the air. Just that in itself is exciting to see, how animals are so athletic.”

The PBR Challenge begins on March 3, featuring an opening concert with Dallas Smith and Petric to kick off the bull riding that will take place March 4 and 5.
