Police were called to investigate after a single-vehicle rollover west of Calgary sent two people to hospital Wednesday night, one in life-threatening condition.

RCMP said the crash happened at the tunnel under Highway 1 between Bear Hill Road and Morley Road.

They said the vehicle was travelling westbound when it veered off the road and rolled over.

Mounties said it appears the two males inside were not wearing seatbelts.

One of the occupants was airlifted to Calgary’s Foothills Medical Centre in life-threatening condition while the other was rushed to hospital by ambulance in non-life-threatening condition.

RCMP said it is unknown whether the speed or alcohol played a role in the crash.
