SASKATOON- Imagine paying for your online purchase with a selfie. Soon Mastercard will begin accepting self-portraits and fingerprint scans as an alternative to passwords from cardholders who are verifying an online purchase.

To ensure you aren’t just holding up a picture, the face scan will require you to blink a couple of times when you choose “selfie pay.”
Mastercard has been testing out biometric identification on a handful of Dutch and U.S. consumers over the past year. They found that nine out of 10 prefer selfies or finger print scanning to needing a password or pin.
