Major damage was seen on the eastern edge of Canmore and pools of water remained in the streets.

Tuesday’s downpour saw Cougar Creek spill its banks, and torrents of water tore away big chunks of earth, washing away a 15 metre section of pathway near a pedestrian bridge.
Rural municipalities like High River and Cochrane also have emergency plans in place if the weather worsens, but at this point no sandbagging operations are planned.
