WINNIPEG — Winnipeg police are executing a search warrant at a home in Valley Gardens in relation to missing teen Cooper Nemeth, according to sources.

Police have been on scene at 15 Treger Bay since Friday morning and could be seen tagging and bagging evidence.

The Winnipeg Police Identification Unit is on scene, along with a number of police cruisers.

Sources confirm to Global News, the Homicide Unit is assisting in the search of the property.

Officers were closely investigating a grey older model Cadillac in the back lane. It was towed away from the property shortly after 3 p.m.

Hundreds of volunteers have spent the last six days scouring the city for Nemeth.

The 17-year-old was last seen at a house party on Amelia Crescent on Saturday night.

Police pinged his phone and said it was turned off at 10:34 p.m. Sunday.

Several people have been taken in for questioning.

On Wednesday, police said they were searching for two witnesses named Derek and Brittany who they believe may have been the last to see the teen in the early hours of Sunday morning.

At the same time, Nemeth’s parents made a tearful plea for information about their son.

“Cooper if you can see this, your friends need you, your team needs you, we need you. We love you Cooper. Please come home and we can figure everything out,” said his father Brent Nemeth through tears. “As the days go by we are getting more worried about his safety.”

The focus of the search in the past week has been in a number of neighbourhoods, including North Kildonan, East Kildonan, Valley Gardens, Downtown Winnipeg, Transcona and St. Boniface.

On Friday, it expanded to south Winnipeg and outside city limits, including the town of Lorette.
