Man stabbed during Prince Albert, Sask. break-in

A Prince Albert, Sask. man was stabbed during a break-in early Monday morning. Police were called to the home in the Gilmour Crescent area just before 7 a.m. CT for a break and enter in progress.

When they arrived, officers found a 74-year-old man suffering from stab wounds to his upper extremities. He was taken to Victoria Hospital for treatment of non-life threatening wounds.

Officers located a suspect in a neighbouring backyard. He was arrested after a short foot chase.

The 18-year-old man is facing charges of break and enter with the intent of committing an indictable offence and aggravated assault.

He made his first appearance in Prince Albert provincial court Tuesday morning.
