Construction was slated to begin next month, but Westcorp now says the risk of high water table levels has pushed the plans back to this fall.
Plans to prep the site and seek a demolition permit for the existing Water St. buildings will go ahead this spring.
With an expected two-year build, the hotel opening should be late 2018 or early 2019.
