WINNIPEG — Dozens gathered outside Mavis Dusharme’s home Tuesday evening to honour her life. Family and friends lit candles and spoke about how Dusharme will be remembered.
“She loved her children so much,” a friend said. “We would always see her walking around with her kids and a big smile on her face.”

Two people have been arrested for the murder of the 39-year-old. Peter Dusharme, Mavis’ brother said his family has been overwhelmed by the support they’ve received from the community.
“It’s really overwhelming I wasn’t expecting this, all the support we’ve received. Sometimes I have to go to the corner of the room to cry about it,” Peter said.
Kashtin Flett and Nikina Houle, both 23, have been arrested and remain in custody.
