The Canadian Food Inspection Agency is issuing a recall warning for two flax seed powders due to possible salmonella.
The recalls affects the Organic Traditions Brand Sprouted Flax Seed Powder and Sprouted Chia & Flax Seed Powder. It includes products sold in the 227 g packages with the codes:
- AHM626151118N
- AHM621151211N
454 g packages with the code:
- AHM553151118N
The CFIA said recalled products should either be thrown out or returned to the store where they were purchased. Food contaminated with salmonella may not look or smell spoiled, but can still make you sick. Young children, pregnant women, the elderly and people with compromised immune system are particularly vulnerable.
So far there have been no reported illnesses associated with these products.
