Son charged with first-degree murder in death of father in Richmond Hill, Ont.

A 30-year-old man has been charged with first-degree murder in the death of his father at a Richmond Hill, Ont., home.

York Regional Police say officers were called to the house Sunday night where they found Robert Veltheer, 77, dead with obvious signs of trauma.

Police announced Monday they were seeking his son Jacob in connection with the death, and arrested him that afternoon without incident after officers found him walking along Highway 48 in East Gwillimbury.
