POINTE-CLAIRE – A petition is circulating around Pointe-Claire to stop plans to renovate a lakeside city park.
The Venture Sailing Club has called the site home since the 1930s.
The renovations would remove a shed built by 200 boy scout volunteers.
Residents said they fear their view of the sail boats on Lac-Saint-Louis will be gone, along with the shed, since the club will have no storage.

City officials pointed out the club’s membership comprises only about a third of Pointe-Claire residents and the renovations would likely accommodate more people from the area.
The renovations are scheduled to start this spring and finish in the summer.
