CALGARY – Looking for a fun way to celebrate Family Day that won’t break the bank? We have a list of ten affordable options:

Family Day Skate at the Olympic Oval
Location: Olympic Oval
Details: There will be food, refreshments, music and on-site activities if you head to the Olympic Oval on Family Day. In addition, parking will be free.
When: Monday, Feb. 15, 2016 – 12 p.m. to 5 p.m.
Cost: Free

Skate in Nature
Location: Bowness Park, Carburn Park and Prince’s Island Park
Details: Grab your skates and enjoy a little fresh air at any of Calgary’s three outdoor skating rinks.
When: December until the end of February, depending on weather and ice conditions
Cost: Free

Tobogganing and sledding
Location: The City of Calgary maintains over 20 hills throughout Calgary
Details: Take advantage of the snow in city parks and enjoy a zip down a city-maintained toboggan hill.

YYC Hot Chocolate Fest
Location: Various locations throughout Calgary
Details: During the month of February, various cafes and restaurants throughout Calgary will create signature hot chocolates to support Calgary Meals on Wheels.

Snow White at Loose Moose Theater
Location: Loose Moose Theatre Company
Details: Watch the classic fairytale come to life “performed in the fun and unique Loose Moose style.” The play is aimed at children ages 4 – 10.
