A former Seattle private school teacher has been sentenced to eight years in prison after secretly videoing students during a ski trip to Silver Star near Vernon.
Forty-five-year-old Jason Christopher Paur had pleaded guilty to engaging in criminal sexual activity.
In December 2013, Paur was arrested at Silver Star after female students on the school-sponsored trip discovered a video camera had been hidden in their bedroom.

The camera had been positioned to videotape the young students while they dressed after showering.
The investigation found Paur had secretly videoed students on the annual ski trips dating back to 2011 and also during other school outings.
The U.S. Attorney handling the case says, “This betrayal of trust is every parent’s nightmare.“
She also commended the victims and families for remaining steadfast in the pursuit of justice.
Paur was fired from his teaching position at the Bush School and has remained in custody since his arrest.
In March 2015, Paur was sentenced in Vernon Provincial Court to 16 months time served, and was returned to Seattle to face further charges.
