TORONTO – One person has died and four other people are injured after four separate shootings in Toronto early Sunday.

A 28-year-old man was pronounced dead in hospital after emergency crews were called to a shooting in the Ellesmere and McCowan roads area around 4:30 a.m.

There is no word on suspects.

A man and woman in their 20’s are in hospital after gunfire erupted at a private party near Niagara and Bathurst streets around 2:30 a.m., and continued on the street.

Paramedics say the man suffered a gunshot wound to the head, while the woman was shot in the leg.

In an earlier incident, Peel police responded to a reported shooting in Malton, near Darcel Avenue and Dunrakin Drive around 9:30 p.m. No victims were found at the scene, but an 18-year-old man later appeared at a Toronto hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Police say several people have been arrested, but there is no word on charges.

Police say several people were arrested nearby when officers located a stolen vehicle, but police aren’t yet sure whether there’s any connection to the shooting.
