The final four has been firmed up at the 2016 Manitoba Scotties Tournament of Hearts in Beausejour.
East St. Paul’s Kerri Einarson claimed first place in her group by beating Rossmere’s Darcy Robertson 9-5 in an extra end of their last round robin game at the provincial women’s curling championship. Einarson will face top seeded skip Kristy McDonald in this evening’s 1-vs-1 page playoff. McDonald locked up the top spot in her pool despite suffering her first loss of the tournament on Saturday. The Assiniboine Memorial Curling Club’s Joelle Brown stole two points in the sixth end against McDonald en route to a 9-5 final.

The 2-vs-2 game meanwhile will feature St. Vital’s Shannon Birchard and Fort Rouge skip Cathy Overton-Clapham. Birchard avoided a tiebreaker by beating Assiniboine Memorial’s Michelle Montford 6-5 in the 14th and final draw. Overton-Clapham advances to the playoffs following a 5-4 win over Barb Spencer earlier Saturday.
The winner between Birchard and Overton-Clapham will face the loser of the 1-vs-1 page playoff in Sunday’s semifinal. A new provincial women’s curling champion will be crowned later that afternoon.
