Larry Flynt and Hustler want to buy Hugh Hefner’s Playboy Mansion

WATCH: The Playboy Mansion is for sale, but Hugh Hefner has said he doesn't want to move – Jan 11, 2016

The Playboy Mansion is being sold for a cool US$200 million, and the only stipulation is Hugh Hefner still wants to live there. So who better to purchase it than Larry Flynt, owner of Hustler?

According to New York Daily News, Hustler executives want to make an offer on the iconic mansion, but there are some caveats. They want to pay less than asking, and, by the sounds of an internal memo shared with NYDN, Flynt, 73, is not interested in Hefner, 89, continuing to live there.

“Larry [Flynt] and I have talked about it and are preparing a bid,” said Harry Mohney, whose Déjà Vu company operates Larry Flynt’s Hustler Club chain (strip joints), in the memo. “We feel it is an excellent place for The Hustler Club and Hustler Mansion.”

Hustler would ideally like to move in their own staff, according to Mohney. They’d host “at least” three VIP parties per week.

In terms of offer, Mohney claims that Flynt isn’t going to offer “half that much” and insists that the mansion needs a full appraisal before they decide on their exact purchase price.

Last week, when asked by TMZ if he would ever want to purchase the mansion, Flynt jokingly replied, “I like my own toys and I don’t want his dirty sheets.” It seems like his mind has changed since then.

“He gave those quotes before he and I spoke,” says Mohney. “We spoke over the weekend, discussed some figures, and he thought the ‘Hustler Mansion’ had huge potential.”

The 5-acre property features 29 rooms, a game house, home theatre, wine cellar and the famous swimming pool with a cave-like grotto where Playboy bunnies partied with celebrities. The mansion also comes with a rare zoo licence.

Playboy has fallen on hard times as of late, recently announcing there would be no more nudes in the magazine. The move followed a decision in August 2014 to ban full nudity on its website.
