Man arrested after threatening to blow up house

Two people charged in Red Deer after RCMP find them in stolen vehicle.

EDMONTON- RCMP in Leduc have arrested a 39-year old man after he allegedly threatened to blow up the house he was in.

Police were called to a home in the Caledonia neighbourhood of Leduc shortly after noon on Saturday. RCMP negotiated with the man for about 10 minutes before taking him into custody without incident. The man was the only one in the house at the time.

Police seized a propane tank and a jerry can from the house. Neighbours were advised to take precautions until the situation was resolved.

The suspect is known to police. No one was injured.

Charges are now pending.
