MONTREAL – An 84-year-old man remains in critical condition in hospital Wednesday morning after having been found with severe head injuries Tuesday evening on Clark Street, near Ste-Catherine Street.

A passerby discovered the elderly man lying on the ground and helped him get to hospital.
While the circumstances surrounding the incident are still unclear, police said it appears the man was assaulted.
It is not yet known whether the victim was robbed.
The investigation is ongoing.
