HALIFAX – A 28-year-old man is facing charges after allegedly fleeing from police on the Macdonald Bridge and then driving his vehicle onto a golf course in an attempt to escape.
Police say they tried to arrest Stephen Henry Peter-Paul of Musquodoboit late Tuesday night when they stopped a car mid-span on the bridge because it was travelling too fast for weather conditions.

Officers recognized Henry Peter-Paul as a person wanted on a warrant and asked him to exit the vehicle. He refused and sped away, eventually heading into a residential area in Dartmouth around Nantucket Avenue.
The vehicle wound up getting stuck on a golf course fairway due to the heavy snow. Police say five people exited and fled on foot, but they were all found a short time later.
Henry Peter-Paul was arrested and held in custody in relation to a parole suspension warrant that was issued on Oct. 25.
He appeared in court Wednesday morning to face charges of dangerous operation of a motor vehicle, flight from police, and possession of hydromorphone.
