Driver charged in Hwy 401 rollover that seriously injured passengers

TORONTO – A 20-year-old male driver has been charged with impaired driving causing bodily harm after three people suffered serious injuries in a single-vehicle crash at Leslie and Highway 401 early Tuesday morning.

Police say the vehicle was traveling eastbound on Dec. 22 around 3:04 a.m. when it struck a guide rail and rolled over.

Three passengers were taken to hospital with non-life threatening injuries and the driver was uninjured.

The accused has been identified as Wenjie Guo of Toronto and he faces charges of impaired driving causing bodily harm, drive over 80 mg over the limit and class G2 license holder B.A.C. above zero.

In addition to the charges, the accused is also subject to an automatic 90 day driver’s license suspension and his vehicle was impounded for seven days.
