EDMONTON – Volunteers lined up on Saturday to help deliver toys and presents to Edmonton families in need. Hundreds of people packed the Santas Anonymous depot in Bonnie Doon to pick up toy bags to deliver to families.
Executive director Lana Nordlund said the request for toy deliveries is up this year. She cites the economy as one factor for the increase in applications.

Nordlund said the organization had to stop taking applications for its home delivery program due to higher-than-expected demand.
She said families who could were not accepted into the delivery program have been told to participate in the walk-in program next Tuesday and Wednesday.
She expects that program to see a 10 per cent increase in demand.
