SASKATOON – A man is facing child luring charges following a police search Wednesday of a west-side Saskatoon home. The charges come after a joint investigation by the Saskatchewan internet child exploration unit and Warman/Martensville RCMP.
A lengthy investigation was launched in June 2015 when a young person reported to Mounties he had been coerced to send nude pictures of himself to an unknown online persona. The youth’s name is not being released to protect his identity.

Investigators say the person who set up and operated the accounts was Ethan Fergusson. He was arrested and police say a preliminary forensic examination of his laptop revealed the presence of the suspect online accounts along with images of the victim.
Along with two child luring charges, Fergusson is also charged with possession of child pornography and making child pornography.
Fergussson, 25, made his first appearance in Saskatoon provincial court on Thursday morning and will remain in custody until his next appearance on Dec. 21.
