CALGARY – Police are looking to the public for help in tracking down a key witness in a Calgary murder trial who hasn’t returned to court to testify.
Lena Raquel Crazybull attended the Calgary Court Centre on Nov. 30 as a key witness in the city’s six homicide of 2015.
Jaimend Roberto Orellana-Sincuir, also known as Jaime Orellana, was shot to death in the 2600 block of Edmonton Trail N.W. at around 2:10 p.m. on Feb. 22.
The following day, police announced Alan Devon Bird had been arrested and charged with first-degree murder.
Bird’s preliminary hearing began last week, at which time Crazybull was supposed to return to court to testify.
“She did not return to finish her testimony,” said police in a news release. “Her testimony is critical to the trial, however, due to a publication ban details of her role cannot be released.”
Police said they haven’t found any evidence that she is in danger or has been harmed, and the court has since issued a warrant for her arrest.
Crazybull is described as being in her early 20s, 5’6” tall with brown eyes and either brown or dyed blond hair. She also has piercings on both cheeks.
Anyone with information on her whereabouts is asked to contact police at 403-266-1234 or contact Crime Stoppers.
