HALIFAX — A 68-year-old woman was struck in a marked crosswalk near the entrance to the Halifax Shopping Centre.
The incident happened shortly after 5:30 Friday evening. Halifax Regional Police say a vehicle was turning left onto Mumford Road when the collision happened. The victim was taken to hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
The driver of the vehicle, a 21-year-old from Dartmouth, was issued a ticked for failing to yield to a pedestrian.

The collision comes the same day that police released their vehicle/pedestrian collision statistics for November, which show accidents were down 21% from 2014.
