CALGARY – Two men were injured in a head-on crash northeast of Calgary on Friday.
Emergency crews were called to Highway 567 and Range Road 285, east of Airdrie, at around 7:10 a.m.
RCMP said it appeared an eastbound Jeep Cherokee lost control on the icy roads hitting a westbound Chevrolet Equinox.
EMS transported two patients to the Foothills Medical Centre.
The 33-year-old driver of the Cherokee suffered minor injuries, while a 57-year-old had serious injuries and had to be extricated from his vehicle.
“The roads were extremely icy at the time of the collision,” said RCMP in a release.
The collision caused the temporary closure of Highway 567.
