EDMONTON – It’s a tradition that both players and patients look forward to every year.
After practice Tuesday, several players headed out to local hospitals in the Edmonton area to meet patients and deliver gifts. Among the players were Oilers forward Jordan Eberle and Taylor Hall. Former players Tom Gilbert and Ryan Whitney were also there to meet with dozens of patients, who are undergoing treatment and care in hospital.

“They take their time out of their busy days and lives to spend it with families that aren’t having some of the best times over the holidays. It lifts their spirits and it lifts mine to be able to see people interact with their heros.” said Elise Kwan, a former patient at the Stollery.
The list of stops included the Stollery, Cross Cancer Institute, Glenrose Rehabilitation, Royal Alexandra, Grey Nuns, CapitalCare Norwood and Misericordia Hospitals.
The annual event is supported by the Oilers, Oilers Ladies and the Edmonton Oilers Community Foundation.
