TORONTO – Eight people fell ill with flu-like symptoms, including teachers and students, at St. Thomas Moore Catholic Elementary School in Scarborough Thursday afternoon.
Toronto Police say the hazardous materials team was called in to check the school’s air quality but results came back clear.

EMS says one child was also taken to hospital.
Officials say the school was not evacuated and there were no risk to other students.
However, an ambulance bus was brought on scene as a precaution.
Classes were ended early and school board officials say public health officials have spoken with staff.
