Shooting suspect identified after Prince Albert house party goes awry

A suspect has been identified by police after a shooting in Prince Albert, Sask. this past weekend. Police say the incident was not a random and happened after a house party deteriorated into an altercation.

At around 3:25 a.m. CT on Dec. 5, officers were called to the 500-block of Southwood Drive for a report of a man suffering from a gunshot wound to his lower extremities.

Parkland Ambulance paramedics took the 26-year-old victim to Victoria Hospital with non-life threatening injuries. There is no word on his current condition.

Although police have identified the suspect, they have not released a name at this time.

The forensic identification section and the criminal investigation division continue to investigate the shooting.
