TORONTO – Four more TTC subway stations are now equipped with Wi-Fi service.
The locations now include Sherbourne, Castle Frank, Bathurst and Christie subway stations.
“It allows us to communicate with our customers when there is critical information about travel or any issues through our system,” said TTC spokesman Brad Ross.
“And of course, it allows our customers to do work and communicate with their family and friends when they are travelling on the TTC — it just enhances that experience.”

Wi-Fi service is now available at all subway stations in the downtown lower loop of Line 1 and on Line 2 from Sherbourne to Christie stations.
The TTC said 25 additional stations will be online by the end of the summer and all stations will be equipped by early 2017.

BAI Canada, the company responsible for implementing the service, will also begin work with WIND Mobile to extend cellular service.
“This costs nothing to the user or to the TTC,” Ross said. “This is something BAI has committed to $25 million over 20 years.”
Ross added there has been no indication on whether the three big cell phone providers will come on board and provide cellular service.
