EDMONTON – People who know the young man accused of killing three people in a rural area west of Edmonton say they can’t believe he would be capable of committing such crimes.
RCMP shot Mickell Bailey Tuesday and charged him with two counts of first-degree murder and one count of second-degree murder.
Investigators say a Mountie hit the 19-year-old with a single shot as he walked out of his grandfather’s house carrying a firearm.
Officials say Bailey remains in an Edmonton hospital in very serious condition following surgery.

Linda Osipow says she has known Bailey since he was a baby. She says he helped her with her fruit business last summer, hauling produce and setting up tables at her roadside stand.
Osipow says he was never aggressive and is just a big, goofy kid.
