Police are looking for a woman whose purse was snatched downtown by a man on a bike early Saturday night.
Officers scared the thief by turning on their sirens, so he dropped the bag and fled north. Police chased the suspect into a restaurant and after a short struggle he was taken into custody.
Police were able to recover the bag and are looking for anyone who knows about the identity of the woman who owns the purse.
The incident took place around 5:30 p.m. on Nov. 29 on the east sidewalk of Bute St., between West Georgia and Melville St.
