EDMONTON – RCMP have laid charges following a collision in central Alberta back in July that killed two people and injured everyone else involved. Two youths were in one of the vehicles, while a family of six from the Rocky Mountain House area was in the other.
The collision happened at 2:15 a.m. on July 8, near the community of Buck Lake.
RCMP said the family was travelling inside a van when it was struck by another vehicle crossing the intersection at Highway 13 and Range Road 63, which is 61 kilometres west of Piegon Lake.
A woman and a man in his late teens, who were inside the van, were killed. Another person was taken to the Royal Alexandra Hospital in Edmonton by STARS Air Ambulance with critical injuries, and the remaining three individuals in the van were taken to hospital with serious injuries.

According to police, the vehicle that hit the van didn’t stop at a stop sign. The two people inside the vehicle were also taken to hospital, but released that day. The vehicle was reportedly driven by a youth who may not have had a drivers license, RCMP added.
