Montreal Canadiens pay tribute to victims of Paris attacks

The day after a series of co-ordinated attacks terrorized Paris leaving upwards of 129 dead, people around the globe were honouring those killed as they attempted to get back to a sense of normalcy.

The Montreal Canadiens paid homage to the victims of the massacre by asking the capacity crowd at Bell Centre to observe a moment of silence before their scheduled game against the Colorado Avalanche.

Following the moment of silence, the rink was lit with the red, white and blue of France’s flag while the French national anthem La Marseillaise played. The Canadian and American anthems followed, offering a moment of unity between the three nations.

Many on social media were praising the tribute to the country still dealing with the aftermath of the attacks.
