Saskatoon police charge man for cocaine trafficking

A man is facing a charge of cocaine trafficking after a drug bust in Saskatoon. File / Global News

SASKATOON – A man is facing charges, including cocaine trafficking, after a recent bust in Saskatoon. The bust was made following an investigation by the integrated drug enforcement street team (SIDEST).

Members of SIDEST arrested the 47-year-old man on Saturday. He was in a minivan in a parking lot at the intersection of 29th Street West and Avenue O North.

Police said a search of the minivan turned up $1,355 in cash, just over 14 grams of cocaine, and other drug paraphernalia.

Along with the trafficking charge, he is also facing a possession of the proceeds of crime charge.

He is being held in custody until his next appearance in Saskatoon provincial court on Thursday.
