CALGARY – There’s a new champion in town.
The St. Francis Browns ended the Notre Dame dominance in Calgary High School Football.
The Browns defeated the Pride in Saturday’s Division 1 Championship game, 31-21 the final.
Notre Dame had won the last three city and provincial championships.
The Pride had won 37 straight games dating back to 2011, until earlier this season when they fell 31-10 to the Browns.
St. Francis wins their first city championship since 2007 and remains undefeated on the year (6-0).
Both the Pride and Browns advance to provincials which begin Saturday November 14, at Stampeder Field in Calgary.
