SASKATOON – A new research consortium based out of Saskatoon was introduced Friday, setting out a vision to collect information in the community safety field. The Community Safety Knowledge Alliance (CSKA) is a non-profit organization that aims to gather and analyze data in order to influence policy surrounding social issues and improve well-being.

Some of CSKA’s findings will be released in an academic journal. The quarterly publication is expected to include peer-reviewed pieces, along with articles aimed at the professional community.
The organization will offer leadership training, technical guidance and help with knowledge exchanges on a provincial, national and international level.
In addition to input from the provincial government, founding members of the organization include the University of Regina, the University of Saskatchewan, the Saskatchewan Health Quality Council, the RCMP, the Saskatchewan Association of Chiefs of Police and Motorola Solutions Canada.
