Eric Harvie School was named after the lawyer, businessman and philanthropist who founded the Glenbow Museum. Harvie, who passed away in 1975, enlisted in First World War and served as a lieutenant and a captain.

Buffalo Rubbing Stone School was named after a large glacier rock in a small park in Panorama Hills. The rock, found near the intersection of Panorama Hills Way and Panorama Hills Road N.W., is known as Crater Rock and was used by buffalo to rub against.

Both schools will serve students in kindergarten to Grade 3. It’s expected they may serve more grades in future years.
